Is this real slime or powder?
Backyard Slime comes as a dry powder, but once you mix it with water, it transforms into real, thick slime. It’s the same messy, gooey fun — just easier to store and ship until you're ready to use it.
How much slime does one pack make?
Each pack makes 2.5 gallons (10 quarts) of slime when mixed with water — perfect for a big pour, a messy game, or a fun group activity.
Mixing & Usage
How do I mix Backyard Slime?
Do I need warm or cold water?
Backyard Slime works best with warm to hot water — just make sure it’s not scalding to avoid any risk of burns. If you use cold water, the slime will have trouble activating and can form major clumps. The warmer the water, the better the slime activates.
Can I mix it ahead of time and store it?
Mixing only takes a few minutes, but if you like to plan ahead, you can definitely mix it in advance. Just store it in a cool, dry place and be sure to use it within 48–72 hours for the best texture and performance.
How long does it stay usable once mixed?
If stored in a cool, dry place, Backyard Slime will stay intact and usable for about 48–72 hours. After that, the texture may start to break down, so we recommend using it within that window for the best experience.
Can I reuse slime after the event?
Yes! If you have a way to catch or recapture the slime (like using a tarp or plastic bin), you can repour and reuse it as much as you'd like within the 48–72 hour window. Just make sure it's kept clean and stored in a cool, dry place between uses.
Safety & Cleanup
Is it non-toxic and skin-safe?
Yes — Backyard Slime is non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for ages 3 and up with adult supervision. While it's designed for fun, it is not intended to be eaten or ingested. Please keep it out of mouths and eyes, and always supervise young children during use.
What should I wear when using Backyard Slime?
While Backyard Slime isn’t likely to stain skin or clothing, we recommend wearing old clothes and washing up as soon as possible after use — just to be safe. For extra protection (and style), you can also wear one of our signature Slime Ponchos!
How do I clean up after using it?
Backyard Slime dissolves easily when diluted with more water. The easiest way to clean up is by hosing off outdoors or rinsing off in the shower. It’s biodegradable and safe to go down drains, so cleanup is quick and worry-free.
Will it stain clothes, skin, or outdoor surfaces?
Once mixed, Backyard Slime has minimal risk of staining skin, clothing, or outdoor surfaces. However, during the mixing process, the concentrated coloring powder can temporarily stain hands. We recommend wearing gloves or using utensils when mixing. If any staining occurs, it typically washes off with soap and water after a few washes. After the slime is fully mixed, staining is no longer an issue.

How many people does one pack cover?
One pack typically covers 1–2 people, depending on how much slime is used per pour. If you’re going for big, dramatic slimings, plan for one pack per person. For lighter coverage, you can stretch it to two.
